Five Wright State pitchers combined on a one-hitter as Wright State improved to 13-5 with an 8-1 victory over Northwestern Ohio Wednesday at Nischwitz Stadium.
Riley Perlich, Tristan Haught, Henry Von Hollen, Tyler Luneke, and Evan Moores each contributed from the mound. Perlich started and logged 3.2 scoreless innings. Haught entered in the fourth, logged 1.1 frames and was credited with the win. The Raiders held Northwestern Ohio hitless until the eighth inning when Luneke surrendered a triple and a sacrifice fly.
Zane Harris recorded 4 RBI in the victory and stepped in defensively at first base. The Raiders won 8-1 in the final tuneup before the first Horizon League road weekend series at UIC.
Harris delivered a two-run single to lift Wright State ahead in the third. The Raiders added two more runs in the fifth to corral a 4-0 lead. JD Orr led off with a walk and Zach Weatherford was hit by a pitch. The senior duo completed a double steal and came around to score after a Harris sac fly and an Alex Alders RBI double.
Wright State gained more breathing room with a four-run seventh inning. Peyton Burdick and Damon Dues drew walks and scored after Seth Gray hammered a triple into right center field. Gray later crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Alders took a four-pitch walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch and swiped third. Chase Slone put a ball in play to score Alders and Wright State held an 8-0 lead after the seventh.
