In Sean McNeil and Amanda Schroeder, Sinclair Community College has its two most sought after basketball recruits in school history the same year.
Schroeder, a 6-foot sophomore from Carroll High School who late this season became the all-time leading scorer NJCAA Division II history, previously said that she would announce her college choice when the season ended. The Tartans reached the NJCAA’s Elite Eight earlier this season, and their final contest was a fifth place game today.
McNeil, a 6-foot-4 freshman sharpshooter, announced in a Tweet that he has narrowed his choices to the University of Dayton and five other schools: Oregon, Western Kentucky, Texas Tech, Ole Miss and West Virginia.
McNeil led all NJCAA Division II players with 29.7 points per game. The Union, Ky. native established a Sinclair single-game scoring record with 55 points against Bryant & Stratton on Nov. 17, 2018. He also added 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while converting 43.1 percent of his shot beyond the arc and 87.6 percent from the free throw line.
