DeWitt, Webb give Sinclair baseball a sweep in OCCAC weekly honors

Sinclair Community College swept the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference weekly awards for baseball in the last week of March.

Brandon DeWitt was named the conference Position Player of the Week while Jake Webb earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

DeWitt put together three straight multi-hit games during a 4-0 week for the Tartan Pride, going 6-for-7 (.857) with a double and two RBI. He drew three walks as well, posting a .900 on-base percentage and whopping 2.043 OPS for the week. In the one game out of the batting order, DeWitt earned a win on the mound by working two innings of shutout relief and striking out five of seven batters faced.

Webb hurled a six-inning complete game win in OCCAC action, lifting The Express past Mercyhurst North East in a 12-2 victory. He surrendered four hits and a walk while allowing two unearned runs sprouted by defensive errors behind him. Webb eliminated 10 batters via the strikeout. He picked up this same award earlier this season on March 4.
