Since debuting as a redshirt freshman in the 2017-2018 season,
Loudon Love has played a key role in Wright State teams that have reached the NCAA Tournament and NIT. The burly 6-foot-8 center from Geneva, Ill. has been selected to the Lou Henson All-American Team, which is given annually to the nation’s best mid-major players in Division I college basketball.
Love led the Raiders in scoring most of the season and finished the season at 15.1 points per game average, ranked seventh in the Horizon League. His 8.2 rebounds per game ranked him third overall in conference.
A First-Team All-League member this season, he was second-team and Freshman of the Year selection in 2018. Love posted 12 double-doubles this season and an average of 16.6 points in league-only contests. On January 28, the center was named the Horizon League Player of the Week. His other post-season award was being named to the District 12 First Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The Raiders recently ended the 2019 season with a record of 21-14 and 13-5 as WSU tied for the regular-season title and advanced to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), falling at Clemson 75-69.
